NAP IT IMPLEMENTS CISCO SOLUTIONS IN SOUZA CRUZ

Saving up to $ 1.4 million in Five Years

WAN AND LAN ASSESSMENT

AGILITY AND ECONOMY

Souza Cruz technological systems configuration, a leading company in the national tobacco market, has brought more agility and process savings that could reach R$ 1.4 million over five years.

The solution was found through the WAN Assessment and LAN Assessment services, an extensive environment analysis performed by Nap IT. After the diagnosis, the goal was to increase access to systems through network balancing, increasing the installed technologies performance with the Cisco ASA deployment.

Nap IT studied the network incidents history, impacted systems and the technologies involved from each location and extracted performance and bandwidth reporting. It was also analyzed the number of overtime hours performed by employees to perform tasks after being affected by infrastructure failures.

TESTIMONIALS

“By configuring the solutions indicated by the consultancy, Souza Cruz was able to reduce costs in new security and management systems, as well as in the employees productivity loss, ensuring remote access to the network without the concern for threats. Meanwhile, integrations with the link to system redundancy have brought benefits such as ensuring process continuity. And with the Cisco ASA Firewall properly configured, the company started detecting dropped links and directing all traffic to the link that is acting as a contingency automatically. “
Rodrigo Alabarce, Nap IT CEO
“Network balancing enabled greater data flow in file exchanges and system access: The improvement was clear. We heed a recurrent need related to the slowdowns in the system, especially billing, that impacted the company. The Nap IT attendance was very planned, with a minimum network stop for the work execution. We are moving towards a convergence world, in which we will have voice, video and data in a single structure. “
Matheus Ferreira., Souza Cruz IT Manager

FIREWALL NETWORK DEVICE

All the project was designed and deployed in five months and had the Firewall network device integrating strategy, Cisco ASA, as responsible for network balancing to improve the access speed to the systems.

The plan also included Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) Internet links to transmit multimedia applications (voice, data and video) more economically than a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network.

With the network balancing project, speed performance goals were exceeded, integrations generated 50 percent improvements in access speed and usage in corporate email systems, 80 percent in the local Internet, and 30 percent in systems billing. In addition, the company considered having saved by upgrading the MPLS link, bringing benefits to the processes because critical systems do not traffic on the same network as non-critical systems, that is, the data does not compete for space network.
